Matan specializes in tax planning and tax controversy matters for closely held businesses, partnerships, joint ventures, real estate developers (project finance and construction), and technology companies, including start-ups and late stage companies.
Matan has significant experience dealing with complicated ownership issues in transactions, as well as untangling complicated real estate title issues. Matan also advises clients on personal tax and estate planning matters.
Matan holds a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and an L.L.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Matan has taught courses at Rutgers School of Law, Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, and Georgetown University Law Center. Matan also serves on advisory boards and steering committees of several area nonprofit organizations.
